CICC board bares names of members

-
The Cebu International Convention Center Management Board has finally bared the list of its members during its first meeting yesterday.

Co-chaired by Governor Gwendolyn Garcia and Mandaue City Mayor Thadeo Ouano, the board has confirmed the appointment of its members as well as the creation of the Technical Working Group (TWG).

The boar members are Capitol consultant Pablo John Garcia, Provincial Board Members Juan Bolo and Victor Maambong, and Mandaue City Councilors Wenceslao Gakit, Manuel Monzon and Nixon Dizon.

The Capitol and Mandaue City have also equal representations in the TWG, which is composed of provincial legal officer Marino Martinquilla, Rory Jon Sepulveda, provincial health officer Cristina Giango, Elizabeth Francia, Mandaue City legal officer Erwin Rommel Heyrosa, Hidelisa Latonio, Florentino Nimor and Cheryl Ouano.

The Joint Venture Agreement entered into by the provincial government and Mandaue City constituted the Management Board and TWG to ensure the viability and sustainability of the CICC.

The board will provide the direction on the operations of the CICC while the TWG will provide technical inputs for policy formulation, systems and procedures and operations manual.

The board also agreed that the Capitol and Mandaue City will set aside P5 million each as trust funds to be deposited in a joint account for two months while the CICC is yet to generate income to cover the operational expenses.

The board is set to discuss the guidelines and charges of the use of the CICC in its meeting next month in preparation of the upcoming international event of the Department of Tourism in March. - Gregg M. Rubio
