Man names killer before dying

-
With his dying breath, a man was able to name his alleged killer after being shot along A. Lopez Street, barangay Labangon, Cebu City, yesterday morning.

Homicide investigators identified the victim as Felix Entera, 32, a resident of sitio Mahayahay in A. Lopez Street.

He was allegedly shot several times at close range by a man he identified only as a certain Siano, who also goes by the alias "Kirat", PO2 Buenaventura Ursaiz of the city police Homicide Section told The Freeman.

According to witnesses, the victim was sitting on a bench outside a sari-sari store owned by their neighbor Erlinda Mercado when the suspect, armed with a gun of undetermined caliber, stealthily approached him.

Before the victim could react, the suspect without provocation shot him several times at close range, hitting him in the right side of the body, the left side of the face and left forearm before fleeing.

The bullet that hit the victim's right side exited through his left side.

The victim's live-in partner Barbara Dicdiquen, 42, and several neighbors rushed the victim to the Cebu City Medical Center.

While he was being brought there, Dicdiquen told responding police investigators that Entera managed to tell her that he was shot by Siano.

Ursaiz told The Freeman that based on the information they have from the intelligence units, Siano is a known toughie and is an alleged drug pusher in the area.

Dicdiquen told the police that the suspect harbored a grudge against the victim as he suspected him to be a police informant and providing them information about Siano's alleged drug activities.

Dicdiquen also clarified to the police that the victim has never been an informant and has never provided any information to them.

The police are still looking for the suspect. - Edwin Ian Melecio
