Suspected pusher arrested in Pardo

-
Police arrested a suspected drug pusher inside his house and seized from his possession 30 sachets of suspected shabu yesterday morning along Aznar Private Road, barangay Pardo, Cebu City.

Aside from the suspected drugs, police also found 17 empty packs with suspected shabu residue and another big pack containing the same illegal substance.

The items were reportedly found inside a plastic case placed on top of a TV rack in the living room.

But the suspect, identified as Paul Baloloy, 36, a resident of the said place, denied owning the said drugs.

Baloloy, who did not resist arrest, claimed the drugs belonged to his nephew, allegedly a fraternity member who often let his friends into their house without his permission.

But SPO1 Filomeno Mendaros, an investigator of the Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Branch, told The Freeman he received information earlier on Baloloy's alleged operation involving illegal drugs.

He also said they found out that Baloloy's supply of illegal drugs comes from barangay Tangke, Talisay City, and also from some parts of Toledo City.

One of the relatives of the suspect who accompanied him to the CIIB office yesterday denied that Baloloy is a drug pusher and claimed that somebody might have left the sachets inside his house or intentionally left the items so he can be arrested.

The CIIB was armed with a search warrant for possesion of illegal drugs issued by RTC Branch 13 judge Meinrado Paredes when they made the raid.

The raiding team was led by S/Insp. Wilbert Parilla accompanied by several policemen and tanods of the said barangay. - Edwin Ian Melecio
