Indian national loses P12,500 to 2 robbers

Amid the downpour yesterday morning, an Indian national lost at least P12,500 to two unidentified motorcycle-riding robbers in Cabangcalan, Mandaue City.

Although the robbery happened in Mandaue City, the victim chose to report the incident to the Theft and Robbery Section of the Cebu City Police Office.

Police identified the victim as Kumar Vijay, 33, a native Punjabi, India and presently resides along U.M. Seno Street in Mandaue City. The victim is engaged in money lending business in Metro Cebu.

Vijay told police that while he and his friend were riding a motorcycle along the Cabangcalan road from Talamban Public Market to Cebu City, the robbers onboard a black motorcycle suddenly pushed them from behind.

The push caused their motorcycle to swerve dangerously, prompting them to stop. One of the robbers immediately accosted them and announced the holdup.

For fear of being hurt, Vijay gave his money totaling P12,500 to the robber. The robbers then fled, while Vijay asked his friend to have the incident reported to the police.
