Cops seize hot timber

Policemen in Talisay City arrested a jeepney driver and a companion for allegedly transporting illegally cut Narra trees yesterday dawn along Molave Street in barangay Lagtang.

The police seized the timber and the vehicle and detained Kenneth Ebonalo, 19, and a certain Richard Abarquez, 28, both residing in barangay Camp 4 in Talisay City. Both men are being investigated.

Ebonalo claimed he was paid P1,000 by three men and was told to deliver the timber to barangay Bulacao in Cebu City.

He said he knew the men only by their nicknames Aryong, Sosimo, and Susing who are all from barangay Camp 6 in Talisay.
