A 33-year-old man was found dead, with a gunshot wound in his right temple, in an alley at sitio Black Cat in barangay Duljo-Fatima yesterday dawn.
Residents in the area found the sprawled body of the man, who was identified by his relatives as Jericho Panuyla, of Sta.Teresa Village in barangay San Isidro,Talisay City.
Nobody saw the killing but residents told homicide investigators, led by SPO3 Alex Dacua, that the that they heard a single gunshot from where they later found the body.
Not one of the residents knew initially who was the man killed on the alley and they could only surmised he could be someone visiting somebody in the place.
Later in the day, relatives of Panuyla from Talisay City claimed his body at the San Fernando Funeral Homes where he was taken for autopsy.
Policemen found from the crime scene an empty shell of a bullet, which led them to believe that it came from a revolver that was used in killing Panuyla.
They have been verifying reports that Panuyla was with another man, who was believed to be his relative, when the killing happened. This rumored relative fled however. - Edwin Ian Melecio/RAE
