Akrho member kills one in Mandaue City

Violence involving fraternities just refuses to end even after the covenant recently reached upon by Tau Gamma Phi and its rival group, Alpha Kappa Rho.
This after an 18-year-old man was shot dead by a suspected Akhro member past midnight Thursday in sitio Tribunal, barangay Centro, Mandaue City.
The victim was identified as Clint Anthony Catarig, a resident of the place, while the suspect was identified as Roberto Flores, alias Obet, a resident of sitio Oploc, barangay Looc.
Police C/Insp. Abraham Ocampo, chief of Centro Police Station, said Catarig was buying cigarette in a nearby store when he met the group of Flores, who allegedly shot the victim without any provocation.
The victim, who sustained gunshot wounds in his arm and chest, was rushed to the Mandaue City Hospital. He was transferred to Chong Hua Hospital in Cebu City where he died few hours later.
Ocampo said the victim has a cousin who is a member of Tau Gamma. He believed that the victim was just mistaken for a member of Tau Gamma, which was suspected to be responsible for the shooting of a group of Akrho members the night before. - Gregg M. Rubio
