Celerino Aurita, Jr. and Edicyl Burasca bested contestants from 103 participating private secondary schools to win first runner-up and fourth runner-up in the poster-making contest, respectively. Aurita is a third-year high school student while Burasca is fourth-year.
Meanwhile, Jollyjoie Serad, a fourth-year high school student, was one of the finalists in the essay-writing contest. There were 124 participants in the said contest.
Stacey Kay Tumamak was also a finalist in a singing contest, in the vocal solo category particularly. Armejoice Bael romped with her crown as Miss PRISSAAP Youth 2006 third runner-up.
Coaches of these students were Faith Ladong, Angie Diasana and Dr. Fe Cuenca who was also head of the UV delegation.
UV Executive Vice President Jose Gullas got overwhelmed with the honors the students brought to the school. He said the University will strongly support the academic programs undertaken by these students.
