Capitol invites contractors for Carcar hospital bidding

The Province of Cebu, through its Bids and Awards Committee-Infrastructure, has invited contractors to bid for the proposed 100-bed Carcar Provincial Hospital worth P68.6 million.

Actually, the project is aimed at upgrading the existing Carcar District Hospital, which will be converted into a provincial hospital in the south.

To be able to bid for the project, prospective bidders should possess a valid license, recognized by the Philippine Contractors Accreditation Board; and must have key personnel and equipment available for the prosecution of the contract.

The BAC-Infra will use non-discretionary pass or fail criteria in the eligibility check or screening as well as in the Preliminary Examination of Bids. The BAC-Infra will conduct post-qualification of the lowest calculated bid.

The issuance of bidding documents will be on September 11. The pre-bid conference is set on September 13 and that the receipt and opening of bids is scheduled on September 25.

The BAC-Infra Secretariat will issue eligibility forms to prospective bidders at the Provincial Engineer's Office, Legislative Building, Capitol Compound, Cebu City, upon their submission of a Letter of Intent and upon payment of the non-refundable amount of P50 to the Cash Division, Provincial Treasurer's Office.

Prospective bidders shall submit the eligibility requirements to, and may also obtain the results of the eligibility check from, the aforementioned address.

The BAC-Infra will issue bidding documents including plans and specifications only to bidders declared by the BAC-Infra to be eligible for the bidding upon payment of a non-refundable amount of P20,000 to the Cash Division, Provincial Treasurer's Office.

BAC chairman Eduardo Habin said that the Province of Cebu assumes no responsibility whatsoever to compensate or indemnify bidders for any expenses incurred in the preparation of their bids, and reserves the right to reject any and all bids, waive any defect or informality in the bids, declare a failure of bidding or not to award the contract. - Gregg M.
