Guadalupe officials disappointed over unreported landslide

-
The barangay officials of Guadalupe yesterday expressed disappointment after residents in sitio Sandayong did not report a landslide incident in the area last Wednesday.

Guadalupe barangay councilor David Sazura told ABS-CBN TV Patrol-Cebu that they were not informed about the landslide that reportedly hit the house of Arnold Gacho, whose family was nearly buried.

It was only yesterday when the Gacho family decided to seek for assistance from the Cebu City Disaster Coordinating Council.

He said they were able to escape when the landslide crashed into their house. "Tungod lang gyud to sa kusog nga uwan."

But despite the incident, he and his family were still continue to stay in the area because they don't have anywhere else to go to.

"Abi gyud namo nga kadto nay katapusang sa among kinabuhi," Gacho's wife Neda said.

The CCDCC advised Gacho and his family to vacate their house and transfer to a safer place. - Ramil V. Ayuman/LPM
