Veco skeds brownouts in Metro

Various parts of Metro Cebu will experience power service interruptions on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

This as the Transmission and Distribution Department of the Visayan Electric Company will conduct line maintenance works in its service areas.

From 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Thursday, portions of A. del Rosario and Espina compound in barangay Guizo, Mandaue City will have no power due to the upgrading of a primary line. The three-hour power interruption will enable the crew to convert existing V-phase primary line into 3-phase and connect a 3-100KVA transformer.

On Friday, barangays Labangon and Tisa will experience brownouts from 6 a.m. to 12 noon as VECO will replace a rotten pole with a 40-inch concrete pole and transfer all its attachments to the newly erected pole in barangay San Nicholas proper.

From 6 a.m. to 12 noon on Friday, barangays Poblacion and Candulawan in Minglanilla and portions of barangay Vito will experience power interruptions due to the relocation of lines and poles that are traversing a private property. The six-hour brownout will enable the VECO crew to install 35-inch concrete poles.

On the same day, the power firm will also replace rotten poles to 40-inch concrete poles in Poblacion Pardo and Toong, Cebu City that will result in brownouts in the same area that will start from 8 a.m. to 12 noon. - Wenna A. Berondo
