Cops release cartographic sketches of Noe's killers

-
After five days, police have released two cartographic sketches of the two persons responsible for the killing of an American national and the wounding of his Cebuana fiancée in barangay Labangon last Monday.

The cartographic sketches of Victor Noe's gunman and his companion were released based on the testimony of witnesses who were invited by police for questioning.

But police said the statements of the witnesses were subject to further verification.

The gunman of the 68-year-old Noe was believed to be in his early '30s and is 5'5 to 5'6 in height with fair complexion. Witnesses said he was the one who reportedly negotiated for the sale of Noe's house.

The driver was also believed to be in his early '30s and is 5'5 to 5'6 in height with fair complexion. Witnesses identified him as the one who was interested to buy Noe's house in sitio Banawa.

Noe was killed on the spot while his Cebuana fiancée, Catalina Cabanes, was hit in her left temple and is now in serious condition at a private hospital in the city.

Cabanes' children, aged 11 and eight, said they saw a man in a blue mask opened fire at their mother and their stepfather.

The gunman then left his mask a few meters from where Noe fell and escaped with his waiting companion toward Salvador Street.

The gunman was reportedly identified already but police authorities are not rushing his arrest.

Police are looking into Noe's plans to marry Cabanes as the possible motive in the shooting. Noe had reportedly wanted to take custody of Cabanes' children and take them to the United States next year.

Other possible motive was the transactions over the properties that the couple had acquired recently. - Jose P. Sollano
