A Capitol-owned police car which was turned over to the Samboan police station accidentally hit a seven-year-old girl while leading Governor Gwendolyn Garcia's visit to the municipality of Ginatilan, last Saturday afternoon.

The accident happened along the national highway, infront of Ginatilan Central School in barangay San Roque, Ginatilan.

The victim was identified as Sheila Garces, a student of Palanas Elementary School and a resident of sitio Camboo, barangay Palanas, Ginatilan town.

Investigation revealed that at around 2:20 in the afternoon at the said place, the police car of Samboan police station, driven by its chief of police Insp. Marlon Gumabao, was traveling from Samboan as lead car of the visiting governor's convoy heading for Ginatilan town.

At the said place of incident, the victim freed herself from the hand of her mother and suddenly ran across the road without noticing the approaching vehicles.
