Dutchman shot in Consolacion

A Dutchman was allegedly shot by an unidentified woman in his rented house in barangay Cansaga, Consolacion town, at around 6:55 a.m. yesterday.

The victim was identified only as Chris Vonk by Romeo Flores, the owner of the house he rented.

The Consolacion police station earlier received a telephone call informing them of the shooting. A team led by SPO2 Pedrito Cabornay immediately responded but the said woman had already fled.

Vonk, who was shot in the neck and forehead, was rushed to Cebu Doctor's Hospital by the municipal ambulance for treatment.

The policemen were able to recover the snub-nosed revolver used in the shooting outside the house of Vonk. Consolacion police chief investigator SPO3 Joseph Yongco said that as of 4:00 p.m. yesterday, Vonk was well enough to speak, although he is still confined at the said hospital.

Yongco added that they will investigate the victim once he is in stable condition so that they will have an idea on the motive of the shooting and the identity of the woman since no one witnessed the incident. - Gregg M. Rubio
