Two suspected bigtime drug pushers were nabbed during a raid conducted by elements of Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Branch of the Cebu City Police Office in sitio Plastikan, barangay Duljo-Fatima, Cebu City, yesterday dawn.
Police, armed with a search warrant issued by RTC Branch 13 Judge Meinrado Paredes for violation of Section 11, Article 2 of the Republic Act 9165 or possession of illegal drugs, arrested Valeriano Macol Jr. and Betty Abellana, both residents of the said place.
Supt. Paul Labra said the two are Level 2 drug pushers who can dispose of at least 200 grams up to a kilo of shabu a week.
As the police might also encounter Betty's son Arnold, who escaped under guard last year en route to his hearing for drug charges, Labra had men from the Regional Mobile Group, the Special Weapons and Tactics team and the Mobile Patrol Group with them, since the escapee is reportedly armed and dangerous.
But Arnold was not around and police seized a big plastic pack and six medium packs of suspected shabu, drug paraphernalia and two bullets for magnum .357 revolver from Betty Abellana's house.
Police also confiscated five medium packs of suspected shabu from the house of Macol.
Police also confiscated two moli-moli slot machines and a video karera they saw at a shanty near the suspect's houses while the raid was being conducted.
