Veco skeds power outages in Cebu, Talisay, Mandaue

The Visayan Electric Company has scheduled power interruptions in various parts of the cities of Cebu, Talisay, and Mandaue to give way to the request of its Transmission and Distribution department for its scheduled rotten pole replacement and various line works.
Today, the power supply in Sto. Niño Village in Banilad, North Town Homes, and P. Basubas Street in Tipolo, Mandaue would temporarily be stopped from 8 a.m. to noontime. A rotten pole replacement would be done in Sto. Niño Village while a pole and line relocation would be done in North Town Homes and in Tipolo. A three-hour brownout would also be experienced in Cortes Compound, sitio Tambis, Umapad Mandaue City due to a cross-arm replacement.
A 30-minute power outage from 5:00 to 5:30 a.m. would affect parts of Osmeña Boulevard, A. Pond Extension, and Visitacion Street in barangay Sambag II; J. Osmeña Street, Ma. Cristina Street, and F. Ramos Extension in barangay Camputhaw; part of M. Roa Street, J. Llorente Street, part of G. Garcia Street, part of M. Cui Street, C. Rodriquez Street, and Mirasol Street in barangay Capitol Site; part of B. Rodriquez Street, Department of Health in B. Rodriguez Extension, sitio Kawayan, Tambis Street, A.B. Aznar Street, Tormis Street, sitio Pailob, and Urgello Street in barangay Sambag II; and M. Cabigon Street, J. Alcantara Street, and Pangkee Street in barangay Sambag 1.
The same would also be experienced in sitio Cogon, sitio UCLAHAI, sitio Kamalig, A. Lopez Street, Katipunan Street, Tres de Abril Street, Bliss Housing Subdivision, Green Meadow Subdivision, Sacred Heart Village, Bella Ville Subdivision, Venus Homes, Cebu Shangri-La Homeowners Association, Salvador Street, Happy Valley Road, City Science High School, and part of N. Bacalso Avenue in barangay Labangon; Climaco Street, Colon Street, Dimasalang Street, and Panganiban Street in barangay Pahina Central; and Tres de Abril Street, Lakandula Street, B. Aranas Street, C. Padilla Street, J.M. Basa Street and Miller Hospital in barangay San Nicolas Proper.
It would also affect sitio Larima, sitio Trinidad, Atillo Road, and Mother Rebecca Street in barangay Punta Princesa; Teves Compound, Ganciang Street, Cashmere Street, M. Gochan Street, Second Street, Spolarium Street, Carlock Street, and Sacred Heart Village in barangay Mambaling; Garden Groove, sitio Arcos, and sitio Napo in barangay Sapangdaku; Upper Kalunasan, Mountain View, Bagong Buhay Rehabilitation Center, and Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center in barangay Kalunasan; part of Poblacion Pardo, Newtown Estate, Nevada Street, De la Victoria Street, A. Gabuya Street, and F. Jaca Street in barangay Bulacao Pardo; and Candaya Homeowners Association, Lovely Homes, Valley View Subdivision, and Mohon Elementary School, Maderazo Drive, M. Noel Street, Amethyst Drive, sitio Bontores, and Lower Mohon in barangay Mohon, Talisay City
Other areas that would be affected by the 30-minute brownout would be sitio Pangpang and part of sitio Sambagan in barangay San Isidro, Talisay; J. Singson Street, D. Jakosalem Street, V. Ranudo Street, Echavez Extension, part of F. Ramos Street, part of R. Landon Street, A. Pond Street, Jones Avenue, Jollibee-Osmeña Boulevard, and McDonald's in barangay Cogon Ramos; and the whole of barangays Calamba and Sawang Calero, Bulacao, Lorega-San Miguel and Zapatera in Cebu City, and barangays Candulawan, Lagtang, Maghaway, Linao, Lawaan, Lower Linao and Tabunok in Talisay City.
Tomorrow, Sunday, several parts of barangay Sambag 1, barangay Sta. Cruz, and barangay San Antonio would lose its power for 11 hours from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Parts of Osmeña Boulevard and RR Landon Extension under the jurisdiction of barangay Sambag 1 and barangay Sta. Cruz would be affected. Other areas that would also be affected are Ascension Street and part of J. Urgello Street in barangay Sambag I, and the Cebu Normal University and Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas in barangay San Antonio. The interruption would be due to line upgrading and conversion from 13.8 KV to 23 KV line.
Still tomorrow, Sunday, Green Meadow Subdivision, Sacred Heart Village, BellaVille Subdivision, Venus Homes, Cebu Shangri-La Home Owners Association, Salvador Street, Happy Valley Road, and City Science High School of barangay Labangon, including Jollibee-Guadalupe; Garden Groove, sitio Arcos, and sitio Napo in barangay Sapangdaku; Upper Kalunasan, Mountain View, Bagong Buhay Rehabilitation Center, and Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center in barangay Kalunasan; and part of G. Garcia Extension, part of M. Velez Street, and sitio Lubi in barangay Capitol Site would experience a power outage from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Load transfer is going to be done in the areas affected.
Line upgrading and load transfer would be done from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. that would result into a temporary halt in the distribution of power in barangay Cogon Ramos particularly in A. Pond Street, Jones Avenue, Jollibee, and McDonald's.
On Monday, Independence Day, a brownout would be experienced in F. Ramos and V. Ranudo streets in barangay Cogon Ramos due to a scheduled rotten pole replacement from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.
The interruptions, VECO said, are needed to improve its facilities and services in the areas mentioned. The power firm's engineers, however, would do their best to shorten the time scheduled. - Noreen B. Napoles
