Fire razes house in Alegria town
June 8, 2006 | 12:00am
A house at sitio Alangasil in barangay Madridejos, Alegria town was razed by fire that left an estimated P400,000 in damages.
There were no reported injuries but Sr/Insp. Deonfe Español, town police chief, said that subsequent investigations showed that faulty electrical wiring was the cause of the fire.
Sixty-one-year-old Florencio Sarpacio, an employee of Mariano Jose Cuenco Memorial Hospital in Malabuyoc town, was the owner of the house.
The Alegria Police received the alarm at around 4:20pm but the absence of a fire truck prompted fire fighters to ask for assistance from Badian Fire Station, under SPO3 Orlando Caballero.
Nothing was left of the house, however, when the fire truck finally arrived at the scene about ten minutes after the alarm. - Gregg M. Rubio
