Arturo Permito, 34, married, resident of Cubacub, Mandaue City, and driver of Holiday taxi with plate number LVK 416 was stabbed to death by two unidentified suspects who were described to be between 18 to 22 years old.
Mobile Patrol Car 237 rushed the victim to the North General Hospital after a witness found him inside his taxicab, slumped at the driver's seat, with stab wounds on his neck, chest and both arms. However, the attending physician declared him dead on arrival.
A witness revealed that while she and her friends were onboard a motorcycle on their way to visit a patient at the said hospital, they incidentally saw the two suspects disembark from the cab driven by the victim. They immediately reported what they saw at the Talamban Police station.
Police had discounted the possibility that robbery was the motive of the killing as the suspects didn't take the victim's wallet, which contained P900, mobile phone, and wristwatch.
Police said the incident could either be "thrill killing" or that the suspects harbored a grudge against the victim.
