The most wanted man in Moalboal town finally fell to authorities here in Cebu City last Saturday afternoon.
Moalboal policemen, together with the Fuente Station policemen, arrested 34-year-old Pedro Abrenica at a construction site of a building in Fuente Osmeña where he had been working.
Abrenica is a construction worker who hails from barangay Basdiot in Moalboal but is currently residing temporarily at sitio Sagingan in barangay Lawaan II, Talisay City.
Inspector Gil Limosnero, who heads the Moalboal policemen, said Abrenica yielded without resistance after authorities showed him the three arrest warrants against him.
Two warrants, issued by Regional Trial Court-Barili town judge Leopoldo Cañete, were for Abrenica's pending cases for rape and illegal drugs, while the third warrant, issued by judge Victor Teves of the Municipal Circuit Trial Court-Alcantara town, was for a robbery case.
Limosnero said it took them a week's surveillance before they got information on Abrenica's whereabouts.
Abrenica is now detained at the Moalboal police but will be presented in court today for his commitment order to the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center. - Flor Z. Perolina
