Cordova housing group told to settle differences

The Cordova municipal council yesterday suggested that the Ibabao Bagong Lipunan Community Association leadership should first settle the conflict between their members before they sign the resolution endorsing their application to the Land Management Bureau of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.

The application is for the land titles of the 50 occupants of the Bliss Housing Project in barangay Ibabao.

Cordova municipal secretary Paul Tagsip said that the total land area of Bliss Housing Project is more than two hectares, and that part of the resolution would be its division for the residential owners.

Tagsip said that although the association members already have tax declarations of their lot, this is not enough to authenticate the legality of their ownership.

Tagsip said that the association members filed the subdivision plan in 1999 but due to the conflict, it was not immediately discussed. It was only now when they agreed to reconcile that the council pursued on discussing the issue.

The association members immediately agreed on the condition given to them to speed up the resolution proceedings.

The next public hearing is scheduled for Sunday. - Sheila Peñafort
