3 men hurt in stabbing incidents

-
Three men were hurt in separate stabbing incidents in parts of the city and province.

Yesterday morning Rotciv del Mar, 21, was allegedly stabbed by a certain "Yacal" after he told him to step out of his way in sitio Villagonzalo II, barangay Tejero.

A witness said Del Mar was walking along a narrow pathway and the assailant and a few other neighbors were in the way. Del Mar allegedly scolded them for blocking the path and the assailant got angry and stabbed him.

Del Mar was then rushed to the Cebu City Medical Center while the suspect fled upon the arrival of Mobile Patrol Group personnel.

Meanwhile, in Opone Compound, barangay Banilad, Rey Magro, 27, was allegedly stabbed by Andrew Pamplona, 32, and Romeo Rama, 18, after a heated argument last Wednesday night.

Magro said he was on his way home when he saw his neighbor Richard Olita arguing with Pamplona. They were close to exchanging fists and Magro moved to pacify the two.

However, Pamplona punched him in the face and Rama suddenly appeared and attacked him with a kitchen knife, wounding him in the cheek.

Pamplona and Rama were eventually arrested by Banilad barangay tanods Jose Janice Gacasa and Jefferson Orayan who later turned them over to the city police Homicide Section personnel.

In barangay Bonghitao, Bogo town, a man was stabbed by his drinking buddy after a drunken argument.

Santos Monares, 36, was drinking with his neighbor Eleno Ursal, 56, when tempers started flaring and Ursal got a knife and stabbed the victim. - Emerald Dann Labay and Nancy Marie C. Dael, UP Masscom interns
