Talisay asks Capitol for funds to buy firecycles

Talisay City recently asked Governor Gwen Garcia for funds to purchase at least two firecycles to contain fires that may occur in the city's hinterlands or in narrow interiors of the city.

A fire-cycle is a rather peculiar term for a motorcycle carrying fire extinguishers. It is designed to put out relatively smaller fire or one that has just broken out.

The city council, in its regular session Thursday, unanimously approved a resolution, proposed by Vice Mayor Aberdovey Belleza, asking the governor through Vice Governor Gregorio Sanchez Jr. to allocate money for the purchase of the equipment.

According to FO3 Rudyard Abellanosa of the fire department, these innovative fire-fighting machines provide substantial help in putting out fire in its early stage because it could easily maneuver through a narrow pathway and reach the affected area quickly.

"Kay motorbike man makasud-sud ra na siya ug dali ra makaabot sa suoton nga lugar samtang di pa dako ang kayo," Abellanosa said.
