Son off to Taipei to claim remains of Cebuana OFW

The 24-year-old son of the Cebuana domestic helper, who died reportedly in a fall from a 14-story condominium in Taipei last Wednesday, is set to leave next week for Taiwan to claim the body of his mother.

Patrick, son of Lolita Bacalla, has already passed the travel requirements, according to his grandmother Carmelita Querubin yesterday.

Carmelita, the mother of Lolita, has some concerns however that she hoped the government will address to help the victim's family.

Carmelita said Patrick's departure for Taiwan carries the hope that the Philippine government would help them unveil the real cause of Lolita's death.

" Maayo unta kung matabangan mi nila bisan og pagpa-autopsy man lang anang akong anak kay dili jud mi katuo nga nag suicide na siya," she said.

Taipei authorities have reportedly looked into the suicide angle over Lolita's death but Carmelita insisted her daughter could not do such act. - Jasmin R. Uy
