1 dead, 2 hurt in 2 shootings

A man was killed while two others were wounded in two separate shooting incidents in Tuburan town last Saturday dawn and in Lapu-Lapu City Friday night.
A certain Jimboy Bravo, 27, and Julito Diamante, both married and residents of barangay Alegria, Tuburan town, were shot by a certain Pablo Paez Jr., married and a resident of barangay Cogon of the town while on their way home riding a motorcycle Saturday dawn.
Initial investigation conducted by the responding police revealed that prior to the incident both victims were attending a benefit dance in sitio Dao, barangay Marmol. When they decided to go home the suspect without any provocation and allegedly under the influence of liquor shot them with a gun of still undetermined caliber.
Bravo was hit in the right portion of his back with the bullet exiting though his abdomen while Diamante was hit in the left portion of his hip. The two were brought to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center for treatment but Bravo was declared dead on arrival by doctors.
The alleged assailant fled right away after the incident while police are still conducting follow up operation.
PO3 Raul Jamero said that jealousy over a woman was the motive behind the incident.
Paez allegedly got mad after a woman, believed to be a passenger, did not ride on his motorcycle.
In Lapu-Lapu City, a suspect of a shooting in Bayanihan, barangay Bangkal, was arrested during a hot pursuit operation conducted by the elements of Lapu-Lapu City Police with the augmentation personnel from the Regional Mobile Group of the City last Friday evening.
Lapu-Lapu City Homicide investigator SPO2 Rolito Jumao-as said they were able to arrest Henzon Torion at the boundary of barangay Soong and Bangkal when they learned that the suspect was in the house of his friend Bobby Casio at the said place but far from the place of incident.
SPO2 Jumao-as said that a brief chase ensued after the suspect spotted his team on their way to the suspect's location.
Gerardo Troyo, a trisikad driver, and a resident of Bayanihan, Bangkal, Lapu-Lapu City, was shot in his left eye by Torion, a friend of a certain Siegfried, whom Troyo had argued earlier that day.
Torion called Troyo who was heading home on his trisikad and stopped when the latter thought that the suspect would ride on his trisikad but Torion pulled out a gun and shot Troyo. - Norvie S. Misa
