4 college students nabbed in 'rape' of coed at party

-
Four students of a university in Cebu City were arrested for allegedly raping their schoolmate, a senior Fine Arts student, during a party at a resort in barangay Marigondon, Lapu-Lapu City Saturday evening.

They are now detained at the Lapu-Lapu City Police stockade pending the filing of a rape charge against them. A fifth suspect, still unidentified, was able to escape from authorities at the time.

The victim, in her affidavit, said the six suspects took turns raping her, at the front seat of a multi-cab at the resort's parking lot.

Investigations of the City Police's women's desk showed that the victim and the six suspects were with several other students in the resort for a kick-off party of their school's football team.

But while the other partygoers were busy dancing, the five suspects invited the victim to go out to the parking lot for a while, for which the latter obliged.

One of the female partygoers however got curious over the disappearance of the six from the party area prompting her to look for them. She eventually found them at the parking lot where she caught two of the suspects with the half-naked victim at the front seat of a multi-cab pick up.

The sobbing victim told her that the three others, already seating at the back of the multi-cab, had raped her ahead of the two.

The incident was relayed to the others, and amid the resulting commotion, the team leader of the partying team quickly called up the police station. Shortly after, a mobile patrol manned by PO2 Rodrigo Ungria arrived but arrested only four of the five suspects.

Police women's desk staff PO1 Evita Patalinghug said a rape case will be filed against the five suspects. - Flor Z. Perolina
