Check on how Talisay firms dispose of garbage ordered

-
Talisay City Mayor Socrates Fernandez ordered the inspection of all private and commercial establishments, subdivisions and residential houses in the city to see how they treat their refuse.

"All establishments, subdivisions and residential houses shall allow the Environment and Natural Resources Officer and the Ecological and Solid Waste Management Task Force to check on how they are treating their garbage as mandated by Republic Act 9003, otherwise known as the Ecological and Solid Waste Management Act," read Executive Order No. 2006-08 penned by Fernandez.

City legal officer Aurora Econg explained that this serves as a way to see if all the establishments have followed the waste segregation management as mandated by the city.

Econg said the city government would also like to find out if these business establishments are irresponsibly throwing their liquid waste just anywhere that may pose health hazard to the public. - Liv G. Campo
