Talisay to have free late birth registration
February 12, 2006 | 12:00am
The Talisay City government recently announced the holding of a free late registration of birth for all Talisaynons, in observance of the Civil Registry Month, at the new City Hall in barangay Mohon from February 13 to 17.
This after the city council approved a resolution requesting local registrar Gemma Ladion to conduct the late birth registration, free to all unregistered Talisaynons, whatever their ages may be by now.
"This occasion can be the rare and opportune time to address the concerns of our indigent constituents to have their unregistered family members registered," said councilor Shirley Belleza, author of the resolution.
Belleza, as chairman of the committee on women, family and minors, said there are still many Talisaynons, especially the poor, whose births have not been registered until now. - Liv G. Campo
