After announcement of rewards for their arrest: Another fratman gives up to cops

- Norvie S. Misa -
Another member of the Tau Gamma Phi fraternity is now behind bars after surrendering to the authorities last Friday night.

Warren Entera, 26, allegedly turned himself in after learning that Mayor Tomas Osmeña has offered a reward for any information leading to the arrest of fugitive fratmen.

The same team that picked up Tau Gamma member Glen Codiñera who surrendered last Thursday, picked up Entera, who is in the list of 10 most wanted fratmen, in his house in sitio Tugas, barangay Mambaling, Cebu City, after his mother and barangay Tejero councilor Jessielou Cadungog convinced him to let the policemen take him in.

The team led by SPO1 Adonis Dumpit together with SPO1 Porferio Gabuya and Cadungog immediately presented him to the mayor after he surrendered.

Entera said he also wants to clear his name as he claimed he is not the "Waway" being referred to in many crimes committed against Alpha Kappa Rho members. He said Waway is actually Mark Basalahi, a founder of a gang in barangay Duljo-Fatima.

He has also denied being a "hitman" of the Tau Gamma.

He also said he was the first to send feelers to Mayor Tomas Osmeña of his willingness to surrender before Codiñera turned himself in last Thursday.

"Ako maoy una nga nagpadala og feeler ni Mayor nga mo-surrender pero nauna lang ni-surrender si Glen," he said.

The mayor reportedly told him to turn himself over to the team led by SPO1 Adonis Dumpit and SPO1 Porferio Gabuya.

Entera has reportedly been a Tau Gamma member since 1998 when he was only 18. He was inactive for a while as he was imprisoned for murder in 2003 for allegedly shooting two Akrho members, but this case was later downgraded to homicide after one of the victims said he was not the one who actually shot them.

He was released from prison in January 2004 after posting bail.

"Wa ko magbasol nga ni sulod ko sa Tau Gamma kay kahibaw man ko unsa ang prinsipyo sa grupo," he said.

Entera has a P50,000 bounty on his head, as of presstime it was not clear yet if anyone would be receiving the reward.

Earlier, city police director Supt. Melvin Gayotin told reporters that the bounties raised by the city are so helpful because even fraternity members are willing to turn over their own "brods". The name of the wanted suspects came out in this paper last January 27.

So far police already have Santos "Sonny" dela Cruz and RJ Moreno of Akrho and Codiñera and Entera of Tau Gamma, all of whom are in the 10 most wanted list.

Those still at large are Akrho members Aristotle "Ares" Aves, Dino Arriesgado, Glen Marson, John Berg Ian Baluna, and Tyke Philip Lomibao and Tau Gamma member Erickson Pastorfide.
