Power interruptions in Cebu today, Mandaue tomorrow

The Visayan Electric Company has announced that power interruptions will occur in some parts of Cebu City today, and of Mandaue City tomorrow.
The causes of these interruptions, the duration of which ranges from as brief as five minutes to as long as 11 hours, are the upgrading works of power lines and poles, said VECO as it apologized to the public for the inconvenience.
The scheduled interruption today is in Cebu City and will run for nine hours, from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. The affected areas are parts of C. Arellano Boulevard, Third Street, Quezon Boulevard, E.S. Baclig Jr. Avenue, and the entire stretch of Sulpicio Go Street.
The other areas are residences along T. Uytengsu Street, part of Ascension Street and the establishments of Net Bug Café, Cyprus Saloon and Semprum Apartelle.
Tomorrow, Sunday, power interruptions will hit some parts of Mandaue City due to VECO's work on either isolation or restoration of affected laterals of power lines.
The earliest brownout will be at 5 a.m. and will run the longest at 11 hours, or until 4 p.m. The affected areas are part of Plaridel Street or from the corner of G. Ouano Street up to Imon Chemicals Inc.
Similarly affected are the entire stretch of Dasco Road, M.C. Briones Street, Colina Street and Liong Street, and parts of Burgos Street, Sitio Sacred Heart, Sudlon Maguikay, M. Echavez Street, M. Echavez Extension, N. Cabahug Street, St. Louis Village, Villa Fatima, and Liwayway.
Interruptions in two parts, from 5 a.m. to 7 a.m. then from 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., will hit entire Paknaan, S. Jaime, S. Cabahug, Estancia, G. Ouano, Plaridel, Burgos, Alang-alang, Umapad, R.A. Ouano, W. Cabahug, Opao, M. Fernan Road, Basak, Labogon, Latasan Road, Dungguan Road, Tabok Road, Colina, Burgos, Maguikay, and A.S. Cabahug.
Another two-stage interruption, from 6:30 a.m. to 6:35 a.m. then from 2 p.m. to 2:05 p.m., will affect AC Cortes, Maguikay, Casuntingan, M.C. Briones, B. Cabahug, P. Burgos, and Rizal Avenue. - Liv G. Campo
