Two girls molested, suspects arrested

Two girls were allegedly molested in separate incidents in barangays Cogon and Lorega-San Miguel last Friday.
In barangay Cogon-Pardo a thirteen-year-old girl claimed she was molested by her own uncle in sitio Laguna, barangay Cogon-Pardo, last Friday morning.
The girl said her uncle George Caballes, 34, entered her room early Friday morning and straddled her. He almost succeeded in raping her when she shouted for help, awakening her parents who were in the other room.
George's stepbrother and the girl's father Alfredo Caballes, a member of the Lungsod Batok Salaud anti-crime group, eventually arrested him that same day and turned him over to the police.
PO3 Robert Baro of the Pardo Police said the suspect was temporarily living in the victim's house when the incident happened.
The victim was then turned over by the Pardo Police to the Family, Juvenile & Gender Sensitivity Section of the Cebu City Police Office for further investigation as a case of rape in relation to Republic Act 7610 or the Child Abuse Act will be filed against the suspect who is now detained in the Pardo police station.
In barangay Lorega-San Miguel a teenager was arrested after allegedly raping a 17-year-old from Liloan town who came to visit his uncle in his house there.
The victim said the suspect forcibly embraced her, then started kissing her in the neck before dragging her into a room then raping her.
She said after the rape he casually left while she ran to the Lorega-San Miguel barangay hall for help, which led to the arrest of the suspect.
A child abuse case will also be filed against the suspect.
Meanwhile, a man with a standing warrant for rape in Badian town in 1992 was arrested Thursday dawn in Sul-ongon, La Libertad, Negros Oriental, by the elements of Badian police and La Libertad police.
Armed with a search warrant issued by presiding Judge Victor Teves of the Municipal Circuit Trial Court Branch 12, Gomersendo Eyac, alias "Gomer", 39, was arrested by Badian police chief Insp. Rodrigo Orbigozo and SPO3 Rufino Tabañag in coordination with the La Libertad police after over a decade of hiding there.
Orbigozo said that after getting a tip that Eyac was spotted there they went to the place with the search warrant and arrested him. He is now detained at the Badian police station.
Eyac, from barangay Saragoza, Badian town, is accused of raping a relative who was 15 years old at the time. Eyac worked as a helper in sitio Sul-ongon. - Flor Z. Perolina and Norvie S. Misa
