Next year's Cebu Popular Music Festival would be held on January 19. The early announcement is meant to refute allegations that the festival has already been discontinued, executive director Philogene Florita said.
Florita denied the allegations and even enumerated the improvements that were introduced in last year's festival such as variety in the songs, the choice of instruments used for accompaniment, and that composers wrote songs that were relevant to society.
He said he is committed to make some more improvements in next year's festival. Florita is also urging radio stations to air the winning entries.
