The Department of Education has launched its New Gintong Ilawan-Teodora Alonso Educators Awards for outstanding female private elementary school principals in its aim to recognize exemplary educators who made significant contributions in the field of education.
The Gintong Ilawan-Teodora Alonso Educators award is on its 17th year and has tied up with cosmetics firm Avon for sponsorship. As the awards program celebrates its 17th year on a new concept, it will honor not only one national winner this time, but ten outstanding female principals.
Regional winners will be chosen based on their credentials and on what they have accomplished for their schools and communities. The prestigious National Board of Judges will then select the national winner from the regional awardees.
Deadline for applications of nominations will be on January 30 together with the regional screening as to who will represent the region in the ceremony. The national pre-selection is set on February 15. The proclamation of winners will be on
April 26, while the national awards will be on April 28 in Manila.
