Arroyo assures justice for Gingoyon Murder

-
President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo assured the family of slain judge Henrick Gingoyon that the government will do its best to put the brains of the killing behind bars.

Arroyo visited the wake of Gingoyon at the Sacred Heart Chapel yesterday after attending to different activities in Toledo City.

The president was able to chat with one of the late judge's daughters Hyacinth, who is in the United States, using a laptop computer with a web camera installed at the chapel.

Hyacinth thanked the president on behalf of their family but also expressed discontent in the investigation into her father's death, especially in the arrest of the suspects. She told the president that those arrested might just be fall guys.

The eldest daughter of Gingoyon, Hazel Beth, also shared the same sentiments.

The family, according to the two daughters of the judge, will only get justice when the mastermind behind the murder will be arrested.

Hazel Beth said that another injustice will be committed if those arrested are just fall guys.

Arroyo spent about 40 minutes at the wake and was able to talk to Gingoyon's mother Conchita, his wife Maribeth and his children. Hyacinth, who could not come home, is still in touch with the family and could see what was happening at the chapel through the web camera.

Gingoyon's body will be cremated on Sunday and will be brought back to Cavite on Monday. - Gregg M. Rubio
