Mandaue City councilor Wenceslao Gakit, chairman of the committee on finance, assured that the release of the extra cash gifts for the city employees will be next week.
This after the City Treasurer's Office failed to release the amount yesterday citing they still need to prepare the pertinent documents.
The city treasurer's office also claimed that they are busy preparing for the salaries of city hall officials, regular and casual employees.
The city council approved the resolution for the supplemental budget last week authorizing the release of P18 million to cover the amount for extra cash gifts to city officials and employees.
Under the said resolution, city officials and regular employees will receive an amount equivalent to a one-month salary.
Personnel of the Traffic Efficiency for Development and Management or TEDMAN are expected to receive their extra cash gift benefits amounting to P6,000 while casual employees will each receive P5,000.
Employees assigned at the city government's clean and green program will receive P3,000 each while barangay health and nutrition workers will receive P1,000 each. - Jose P. Sollano
