Power interruptions set today by VECO

Different areas in Cebu City, some parts of Talisay City and the municipalities of Naga and Minglanilla will experience brownouts today due to upgrading activities by the Visayan Electric Company.

VECO's transmission and distribution department and substation equipment and electrical department will upgrade its Ermita substation and transfer its load to the Pardo substation.

From 5 a.m. to 6 a.m. today, the power firm will facilitate the installation of its 69 kilovolt capacitor bank and 69 KV tie circuit breaker for bus 1 and 2 at its Ermita substation that would result to power interruptions in barangays Ermita, Pasil, San Roque, Parian, San Antonio, Sambag I, Suba, San Nicholas, Pahina Central, Kalubihan, Mambaling, Basak, Quiot, Punta Princesa, Labangon, Kinasang-an and Cogon.

From 4:50 a.m. to 5 a.m. and from 6 a.m. to 6:10 a.m. today, the barangays of Pardo, Inayawan, Cogon and Bulacao in Cebu City and Tabunok, Lagtang, Biasong, Tangke, San Isidro, San Roque, Lawaan, Dumlog, Cansujong, Pook, Mojon in Talisay City and barangay Lipata in Minglanilla will also experience brownouts as VECO will transfer load and restore its feeders at its Pardo substation.

And lastly, from 4:50 a.m. to 5 a.m. and from 6 a.m. to 6:10 a.m., several barangays of Naga and Minglanilla would have brownouts as VECO would also facilitate the load transfer and restoration at its entire CTN 311 feeder at its Cantao-an substation in Minglanilla. - Wenna A. Berondo
