The lack of a court for the Municipal Trial Court in Cities in Lapu-Lapu City will soon be addressed, with the promise of Chief Justice Hilario Davide, Jr. to look into the problem.

Econg passed on information to Davide that at present Lapu-Lapu City has one court for MTCC serving Lapu-Lapu City and Cordova town, although the Supreme Court assigned a MTCC judge last October to hear twice a week cases that happened in Cordova.
Davide who is set to retire next week vowed to look into the problem. He also assured Econg that his successor will also address this particular need.
According to Davide, the new model Hall of Justice is designed to house an additional court for MTCC.
RTC judge Benedicto Cobarde, on the other hand, said that Cebu 6th district Rep. Nerissa Soon-Ruiz sponsored a bill for an additional court for MTCC in Lapu-Lapu City.
