A man was detained at the Madridejos police station after he caused trouble at a concert during the celebration of the Madridejos town fiesta last Friday night.
Rodel Carato, 24 years old, single, and a resident of barangay Poblacion, Madridejos town, is presently detained at the Madridejos police station upon the orders of Mayor Letty Mancio as she is bent on filing charges against him and seeing him behind bars.
PO1 Antonio Rayco of the Madridejos police yesterday said that Mancio was so dismayed over the incident since it was the first time that trouble occurred inside the Cultural Center of the town.
Investigation revealed that the suspect stoned The Firelights Band which was performing a concert last Friday night.
Rayco said that the concert which started at 9 p.m. last Friday was supposed to be over at 2 a.m. the following day, but it was stopped at 1 a.m. after Carato, then allegedly drunk, stoned the performing band for their failure to sing his request.
He had requested the band to play a song but was told to wait for his turn.
Irked after his friends teased him over the band's failure to immediately grant his request, he then pelted the band which immediately stopped performing while the fiesta committee immediately seek the help of the police.
PO2 Wendel Pestaño and PO1 Kent Furmentira immediately responded to the alarm and when they tried to stop the suspect from getting into further trouble he instead mocked the police and taunted them.
The policemen moved to arrest Carato when he bit the right forefinger of Pestaño who ordered him to stop and called for the aid of the barangay tanods, eventually they were all able to arrest the suspect and bring him to the police station for detention.
Cases of resistance to person of authority, direct assault and public alarm and scandal will be filed against the suspect today. - Flor Z. Perolina
