Carbon police chief Doroteo Mantos identified the woman as Kimberly Garcia, reportedly a dancer at a downtown bar, who was a neighbor of Edgar Aro, the father of the girl.
Last Monday night, Edgar left his daughter to the care of Garcia because he had something important to do, but when he arrived home yesterday morning both of them were nowhere to be found.
One of his neighbors later reported they saw a woman bringing a girl to a store in barangay Pasil and he could still catch up with them if he hurried.
As he got there he saw that the girl was really his daughter and Garcia allegedly tried to escape, prompting him to call the police who came to arrest Garcia.
The storeowner later said that Garcia even borrowed P100 from her because she was about to meet someone who would buy the girl for P5,000.
Garcia will be charged for abduction today. - Ryan P. Borinaga
