One of the suspects who robbed a lotto outlet in Danao City last October was arrested by Danao policemen at the city's Plaza Rizal where he was drinking at a store while watching a concert Friday night.
The suspect was identified as 22-year-old Alladin Jayme, a resident of barangay Maslog in Danao City.
A police asset, while conducting surveillance in the area, spotted Jayme whom he recognized via a photo he earlier saw posted inside the police station. This prompted him to immediately inform the policemen.
Responding policemen PO2 Roberto Canencia and PO2 Francis Allen Villamor arrested Jayme by virtue of a warrant that Regional Trial Court Judge Silva Aguirre Paderanga earlier issued.
Jayme is now detained at the Danao City Police stockade but he could be out once he could post the recommended P100,000 bail.
Villamor said Jayme was positively identified as one of the three suspects who robbed the lotto outlet of Lovelle Mahinay in barangay Sabang and ran off with P300,000 worth of checks and P30,000 cash.
The arrest of Jayme somehow showed that Danao Mayor Ramon "Nito" Durano III was right in telling Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña that some criminals in Cebu City might have moved to Danao for fear of vigilantes. - Flor Z. Perolina
