Vagrant zapped inside classroom

A 13-year-old boy was zapped inside a classroom of the Danao Central School along F. Ralota St., barangay Poblacion, Danao City, Saturday morning, after he inadvertently stepped on uninsulated wiring resulting to his death.

The fatality was identified as Kevin Jica Beduya, an out-of-school-youth, and a resident of S. Duterte St., Danao City.

Jesha Almaden, a teacher of the said school and her husband Wenlan informed the Danao City police that Grade IV student Michaela Gonzaga came to them to report that someone had entered the classroom of teacher Lorna Flores passing through the window.

Shortly after the report they heard a banging sound. They came and saw Beduya lying dead on the ground and immediately sent for the police.

SPO3 Quirino Vasquez revealed that Beduya had forcibly detached the parts of the window to get inside. As he made his way inside he stepped on a length of uninsulated wiring and was zapped dead.

SPO3 Edagar Gomez, duty officer of the day, said that they do not have any reaction from the school authorities, although classes will go on as normal. The police have yet to determine why Beduya entered the classroom.

Beduya's body was brought to Danao District Hospital morgue for autopsy. - Norvie S. Misa, Correspondent
