Councilor Nicepuro Apura, author of the resolution for the holding of the fair, said the grand event will promote Carcar-made footwear to local and foreign tourists, who will also be attending the town's fiesta celebration on November 15.
"The fair will serve as a show window of Carcar's shoes and sandals gently crafted by native Carcaranons," Apura said.
Apura said the council resolution also adopted the Carcar United Footwear Manufacturer's Association's building as the official venue of the fair where Carcar footwear products would be displayed and sold.
Carcar, located 43 kilometers southeast of Cebu City, is the second largest footwear manufacturer in the country next to Marikina City in Metro Manila. - Garry B. Lao
