Cop faces misconduct raps

A cop assigned at the Mambaling Police Station is faced with charges of grave misconduct for allegedly seizing items from a shellcraft shop without legal basis.

Businesswoman Lolita Go filed the complaint before the Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Branch yesterday morning naming her former business partner Aljun Donayre, buyer Russel Tampus and SPO2 Ramonito Avanzado as principal respondents.

Eight employees of Tampus were also implicated in the complaint for helping in hauling some equipment from the complainant's shop.

Go told CIIB Investigator Filomeno Mendaros that the incident took place in sitio Huyong-huyong barangay Mambaling at about 11 a.m. last October 31.

Initial investigation revealed that Donayre and Go used to be partners in the shellcraft business but their partnership went sour allegedly because of money matters.

Donayre reportedly sold some equipment from the shop and with the help of Tampus, Avanzado and the eight employees, stormed the shop last October 31 without the knowledge of Go.

Go said Donayre and the others took with them equipment that belonged to her, saying that the equipment that both she and Donayre own only include four motors with blowers used for shell cutting. She said she has no plans of giving back Donayre's share unless he pays his unsettled accounts.

Mendaros said Avanzado's act merits grave misconduct because policemen know that dealing with such complaints should be covered with a court order.
