6 men ransack drugstore

Six unidentified burglars ransacked a drugstore at M.C. Briones Avenue in barangay Bakilid, Mandaue City yesterday dawn and carted away boxes of medicines and other items.
Winston Sy Siao, a resident of barangay Mabolo, Cebu City and owner of Ever Care Pharmacy, reported the incident to Station 1 in barangay Centro and told policemen that a resident nearby saw the burglary but opted not to stop the burglars out of fear.
Initial investigation conducted by PO2 Rosendo Cabrera disclosed that at around 4:30 a.m. yesterday, six persons on a Mitsubishi L-300 van, with plate number GML-121, arrived at the drugstore.
One of them destroyed the padlock of the drug store using a cutter then four others entered and brought out cartons of medicine and various items, which they loaded in the van.
After more than an hour, the men sped off toward Cebu City.
As of yesterday, an inventory of stolen items was being conducted and Siao could not yet determine the exact amount of medicine taken by the burglars.
The Mandaue Police has been also doing further investigation on the incident while trying to identify the robbers based on accounts of the witness.
