1 dead, 3 wounded in shooting incident

A fiesta celebration in the island barangay of Caubian in Lapu-Lapu City the other night turned to bloodshed when an angry man shot and killed a fisherman and wounded three others, including a tanod.
Federico Abadajos, 31, was hit on various parts of his body and died on the spot while his brother, 20-year-old Panfilo, tanod Feliciano Sabio, 56, and Nida Balansag suffered minor injuries and were treated at a hospital in the city.
The suspected assailant, identified later as 45-year-old Bonifacio Uy, surrendered to councilman Paterno Uy shortly after the incident. Bonifacio is now detained at the Lapu-Lapu City Police stockade.
Police homicide investigator, SPO2 Rolito Jumao-as, said that while the fiesta celebration was going on, Federico and his companions were having drinks with Bonifacio in their place.
Suddenly, a heated altercation ensued between Federico and Bonifacio who, in anger, drew his caliber-.38 revolver and shot the former and the others.
Further investigation on the incident is still being conducted.
