Cops nab 2 men for illegal fishing

Two fishermen were arrested for alleged illegal fishing off the waters of Caubian Island in Lapu-lapu City yesterday morning.
Arrested were Arnold Aniana Aying, 22, and his 17-year old companion, who are both residents of Latsingin Island, Jetafe, Bohol.
Policemen assigned at Station 1 based in barangay Talima in Olango Island, led by Inspector Roldan Daniel, spotted the two men riding a pump boat off the seawaters of Caubian Island.
Confiscated from the suspects were a 10 horse power bridge machine, triple fine mesh net measuring 100 meters and different kinds of fish.
The suspects are presently detained at the Lapu-Lapu City jail pending the filing of formal charges against them before the city prosecutor's office. - Jose P. Sollano
