Province to lease out some of office spaces at Legislative Bldg.

The provincial government is planning to rent out the office spaces in the first and second floors of the Legislative Building.

Provincial Board Member Agnes Magpale said the plans for leasing the spaces at the first and second floors of the Legislative Building are already being discussed in some of the meetings with Governor Gwendolyn Garcia.

At present, the Provincial Engineering Office occupies the office spaces at the two floors. Should the plan to lease the office spaces push through, the engineering office would have to transfer to the offices vacated by the Provincial Board Members at the main Capitol Building. There are 15 vacant office spaces at the Capitol.

Magpale said she would suggest that national government offices be given priority to occupy the office spaces at the Legislative Building since there are a number of national government offices renting office spaces in buildings owned by the private sector.

She added that having the national government agencies occupy the spaces at the Legislative Building would mean convenience to the public because they will no longer have to go to other places for their transactions.

Rental fees and the implementation of the plan to rent out the office spaces, Magpale said, will be finalized before the end of the year. - Ferliza C. Contratista
