3 men arrested for drugs

-
Three men were arrested for drug offenses by the Mandaue City police the other day.

Arrested were Richard Paquira, 33, of barangay Banilad, Janjan Villarta, 22, of barangay Umapad and Aldrick Casinillo, 27, of barangay Tugbungan, Consolacion town.

Confiscated from Paquira after his arrest was a plastic pack containing shabu and P100 marked money.

Villarta and Casinillo were found with two empty plastic sachets with traces of alleged shabu, a tinfoil with traces of shabu, two disposable lighters and unused tinfoil strips.

Paquira arrested by members of the Mandaue police anti-illegal drugs-special operations task group led by PO2 Allain Carado following a week of surveillance on his illegal activities.

The suspects are presently detained at the Mandaue City jail awaiting the filing of charges against them.

Earlier, Mandaue police chief Pablo Lamosao ordered all police units under his command to intensify their campaign against drugs.

Meanwhile, a factory worker drowned while taking a bath with his friends in a river in barangay Babag, Lapu-Lapu City, Friday afternoon.

Lapu-Lapu police homicide investigators identified the fatality as Anjen Pianar, 18, of Tabogon town, but temporarily residing in barangay Looc, Lapu-Lapu City.

Initial investigation conducted by police revealed that Pianar and his neighbors were taking a bath in the river in Babag, a boundary between Cordova town Friday morning.

Before Pianar went swimming, he and his companions were reportedly drinking beer.

Minutes after entering the water, one of their companions shouted that Pianar was missing.

An hour after, Pianar's dead body was fished out by his companions nearby.

Mandaue police are still conducting an investigation into the incident. - Jose P. Sollano/B>
