Man from Bukidnon eyed in cellshop robbery

A Bukidnon native has been eyed as one of four robbers who carted away over P25,000 from the Aerophone cell shop Monday afternoon.

Based on the pictures of police personalities that Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Branch chief Paul Labra brought to Aerophone, a utility worker of the establishment said one of the robbers resembled the picture of the Bukidnon native.

But because the worker was not sure if the Bukidnon native was indeed among those involved in the robbery, Labra refused to reveal the identity of the man pending further investigation.

It was learned that the man has a standing warrant of arrest issued by Judge Marilyn Lagura Yap on July 8 regarding a robbery with frustrated homicide case.

Labra is waiting for Rene Soringawas, the security guard of Aerophone, to report for duty today to identify the robbers because he was the one attacked during the robbery.

Labra, who had corrected reports which said that Soringawas was shot by one of the robbers, said that the guard was only struck and ganged up.

Aerophone, located along Gorordo Avenue, is just several meters away from Camp Sotero Cabahug, the main office of the Cebu City Police Office.

The robbers reportedly wanted to get inside the manager's office, but it was closed. The police believed the robbers stayed at the establishment for only two minutes because of the earlier commotion between them and the guard. - Ryan P. Borinaga
