MPG cops deny mauling vendor

-
The two policemen of the Mobile Patrol Group accused of mauling a flower vendor last Saturday strongly denied the allegation, saying that after responding to the sick person alarm, the supposed victim asked them to be brought to his home in T. Padilla instead of to the Cebu City Medical Center.

Acting city police director Melvin Gayotin already had a talk with PO3 Dominador Apa and PO1 Lyle Allen Saonoy on the allegation that they mauled flower vendor Benjamin Dublin who is believed to be a member of the "Dugo-dugo gang." Dublin was reported to have felt ill inside a moviehouse on Colon street.

Gayotin said unless there is a formal complaint that will be filed by Dublin he would consider the case as solved. He said the lapse committed by the cops would serve as learning experience. - Ryan P. Borinaga
