Another taxi driver killed

A man who drove a taxi at irregular intervals was killed and dumped in barangay Jubay, Liloan town yesterday.

Police theorize that Mario Obanos, 30, single, a lay minister, and a resident of barangay Guidarohan, Minglanilla town could have been robbed before his assailants shot him in the head. His cellular phone and wallet were missing.

At around 3 a.m. yesterday, a Jubay resident was awakened when a motorcycle arrived in the place. He also heard men talking and sensed they were unloading something from the motorcycle.

He went to a security guard nearby and told him about what he had heard. Shortly, they found Obanos lying on the roadside.

The taxi was found in barangay Jagobiao, Mandaue City. It was assigned to a certain Roberto Milana and Obanos would drive it when the mood struck, PO1 Germinio Caylan said. There was blood on the seats.
